From hand-crafted to industrial-scale: Smart solutions for the food production of tomorrow

MULTIVAC Group at interpack (Hall 5, Stand A23)

25.02.2026

Wolfertschwenden, 25 February 2026 – Exhibiting under the motto "Think connected“ at interpack 2026 (07-13 May), the MULTIVAC Group will be presenting innovative solutions for the processing and packaging of all types of food. For all food producers from hand-crafting to industrial-scale, MULTIVAC offers solutions with added value, which perfectly combine the current demands for efficiency, automation, digitalisation and sustainability. The focus of the company's presence at the trade fair will be Smart Packaging and Smart Production – with a wide range of semi- and fully automatic solutions in live operation, as well as interactive demonstrations and many different sample packs showing a wide variety of customer applications. In addition to this and under the motto "Protecting what protects health“, the company will also be presenting in Hall 16 (Stand A 38) its Health Packaging solutions, which meet the specific and highly individual requirements of the medical and pharmaceutical sectors.

Smart Packaging: More than just packaging

In terms of Smart Packaging, MULTIVAC will be showing, how it is possible to completely rethink packaging and the associated processes. The products and services on offer range from comprehensive packaging consultancy, the application of intelligent pack design and efficient machine technology, right up to the use of sustainable packaging materials – and always with the aim of creating genuine added value along the entire added value chain. There will be particular focus on the regulatory requirements from the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulations (PPWR), as well as the associated challenges presented by the closed-loop economy, the reduction in CO₂ footprint and measures to reduce material consumption. The range of services on offer is complemented by digital solutions, such as the digital passport, which is increasing the use of packaging as an information medium, as well as creating transparency for manufacturers, retailers and consumers. Thanks to this holistic approach, MULTIVAC is supporting its customers in developing their packaging solutions and making them future-proof.

More efficiency in the line: Smart Production

When it comes to Smart Production, the focus will be on integrated line solutions with a wide range of packaging technology and robotics, which are targeted on improving the ease of operation, machine performance and product quality. Digital solutions, such as MULTIVAC Smart Services and AI-supported applications, also provide more transparency and greater machine availability, as well as more efficient processes. Among the solutions to be shown is one for quality assurance (Batch Report), as well as an innovative approach to preventing unplanned machine downtime (Predictive Maintenance). Other topics are MULTIVAC Line Control (MLC), which is a groundbreaking solution for controlling lines and optimising their performance, as well as the new pixelHEAT and pixelSEAL matrix heating systems for maximising the efficiency of the forming and sealing processes on thermoforming packaging machines. The pixelHEAT matrix heating system enables high-quality thermoformed packs to be produced with up to 50 percent less material, while still retaining the same functionality in terms of mechanical rigidity and shelf life. Precise temperature control ensures that even thinner films and mono films in particular can be run very consistently, so that resources and energy are saved. The pixelSEAL contour sealing system, which can be controlled digitally, operates with very precise temperature control for optimum sealing of thermoformed packs. The heat is distributed perfectly thanks to the precisely controllable sealing pixels, and up to 50 percent of the energy is saved, even with short heating-up times.
