Beginner Training

Pneumatics

Knowing the pneumatic system of a MULTIVAC packaging machine and its pneumatic assemblies helps you to avoid unplanned downtimes and maintain the productivity of your system.

Learning targets:

Participants

• describe the structure of the MULTIVAC pneumatic circuit diagram 
• understand the acting features (pictograms) of the respective machine stations at MULTIVAC packaging machine
• use the MULTIVAC key for the designation of components by means of the reference designator (BMK) and for the designation of pneumatic lines
• assign the pneumatic components and lines of the machine in the pneumatic circuit diagram and from the pneumatic circuit diagram on the machine 
• know cross-machine and machine-specific pneumatic components and can assign their function to MULTIVAC machines
• perform simple maintenance and service activities on pneumatic components
• reproduce the overall function of the pneumatic control of the respective machine areas
• isolate and repair simple pneumatic causes of faults

Electrics

In this course, you will become familiar with the electrics of a MULTIVAC packaging machine.

• Interpreting MULTIVAC electrical circuit diagrams and circuit symbols​
• Technical components of MULTIVAC heating systems​
• Electrical safety systems of MULTIVAC machines
   

Learning targets:

Participants

• name various electrical components and explain their function
• read MULTIVAC circuit diagrams
• check the heating system for function 
• know the structure of the safety circuit of MULTIVAC machines
• understand the safety components used by MULTIVAC
• understand the TwinSafe system and therefore:
  • can replace the TwinSafe components
  • can carry out diagnostic on the TwinSafe system
     

Target audience:
Electrical servicing staff

Prerequisites for admission: 
Participants must provide proof for at least being an electrician for specified activities.

Beginner Training

Control Systems

In this course, participants will become familiar with the control system of a MULTIVAC packaging machine.

• Important service function of HMI 1, HMI 2 and HMI 3

• Basics of IPC control systems

• Creation of a data backup and retrieving the flash card 

• MULTIVAC bus systems
   

Learning targets:

Participants

• are familiar with the most important service functions of the HMI 1, HMI 2 and HMI 3 user interfaces and can operate them 

• can name and distinguish various IPC hardware components

• can perform and restore a complete backup of the control system

• understand the MULTIVAC bus systems and can carry out a fault diagnosis.

Thermoforming Packaging Machines - Operation and Safety

In this course you will learn basic knowledge about operation and settings of thermoforming packaging machines. You will be trained along the machine processes, the standard processes and standard devices and practice how to operate them.

• Setting of advance and recognize deviations
• Setting of the register mark control
• Get to know standard length and crosswise cutting units
• Handle the film trim removal
• Practice the format change

Advanced Training

Thermoforming Packaging Machines – Mechanics and Maintenance

Within this course we will provide you with basic and advanced knowledge on the alignment of a thermoforming packaging machine, the drag chain advance, the advance system and the register mark control. Basic and advanced knowledge on the set-up and maintenance of forming and sealing dies is imparted and you are familiarized with the cutting units (longitudinal and cross cutting untis – excluding shape cutters) on a thermoforming packaging machine.

Thermoforming Packaging Machines RX 4.0 - Settings on the HMI

To ensure production readiness of the machine generation RX 4.0, this course provides you an optimal overview of the settings on the HMI of the machine.
 

Contents:

• Overview of innovations at the thermoforming packaging machines RX
• Forming (entire process flow: die closing, heating, forming, ventilating and die opening)
• Sealing (entire process flow: pressure monitoring, evacuation, gassing, sealing, ventilating and die opening, leak test sealing station)
• Cross-cutting unit FS15
   

Learning targets:

Participants

• can operate the new generation of machines independently and safely
• know the setting parameters and can determine, analyze and correct them
   

Target audience:
Operators, technicians, shift and line manager, maintenance personnel

Prerequisites for admission:
Participants should have a basic understanding of the technical processes of a thermoforming packaging machine and basic knowledge of the existing R xx5 machine generation.

Thermoforming Packaging Machines RX 4.0 – Maintenance & Settings

This course provides you a deep insight of the technical innovations of the RX 4.0 machine generation and their settings on the HMI.

• understand the reassignment of the tool connections on the lifting unit

Technicians, maintenance personnel

Participants should have a basic understanding of the technical processes of a thermoforming packaging machine and basic knowledge of the existing R xx5 machine generation.

This course provides you with knowledge about settings, maintenance and service activities for the respective lifting unit types of a thermoforming packaging machine.

• Adjustment of the lifting unit & HMI settings

• can recognize and exchange defect components

It is recommended to complete the course "Thermoforming Packaging Machines – Mechanics and Maintenance" beforehand.

Traysealer TX - Operation and Safety

In this training you are introduced to the safe operation of MULTIVAC Traysealers from the TX series. You first learn about the functions and processes of the machine and afterwards how to operate the Traysealer and how to set the most important parameters step-by-step. In addition, you´ll learn how to perform format changes and how to prepare the machine for cleaning.

• know the procedure for converting the traysealer to a different format and how to prepare the machine for hygienic cleaning

Operators, technicians, shift and line manager, maintenance personnel

Traysealer TX - Mechanics and Maintenance

During the training course, you will be provided with basic knowledge for the proper maintenance of a Traysealer TX. The focus is on the disassembly of the sealing dies and the demonstration of all assemblies relevant for maintenance, e. g. the position of the vacuum valves and the lubrication points. 
 

Contents:

• Disassembling and assembling the sealing dies
• Identifying components relevant for maintenance, including the position of the vacuum valves and lubrication points
• Instructions for correctly setting up and aligning the machine
• Commissioning the machine using existing articles
• Assessing the packaging quality
   

Learning targets:

Participants

• understand the design and operation of the machine
• are familiar with the most important safety regulations and are aware of the possible dangers associated with the use of a traysealer
• recognize which variant of a sealing tool is involved
• can assess and replace its wearing parts
• are familiar with all maintenance-relevant assemblies
• are able to put the machine back into operation after maintenance and test its function
   

Target audience:
Technicians, maintenance personnel, shift and line supervisors

Prerequisites for admission:
It is recommended to complete the course "Traysealer TX - Operation and Safety“ beforehand.

Beginner Training

Slicer S 800/1600 – Operation and Safety *

In this course you will be familiarized with the safe handling of the MULTIVAC Slicer. At first you learn about the functionality of the MULTIVAC Slicer and then step-by-step how to operate and how to set the most important parameters. In addition you get to know how to set up and tear down the format parts before a hygienic cleaning. Different aspects such as the basic structure and operation of the HMI will be discussed. The functionality and the operation of the grinding machine as well as a short digression into blade technology are also part of this course, if desired.

• understand the functionality of the MULTIVAC Slicers S 800/1600

• can operate the Slicers S 800/1600 and they master the most important tasks in their area of responsibility, like adapting suitable parameters to optimize their own cutting programs
• are familiar with the machine´s corresponding equipment and are able to set up and dismantle the machine
• can prepare the Slicer for a hygienic cleaning
• learn the functionality and operation of the grinding machine, in order to sharpen the blades of the slicers themselves

Beginner Training

Slicer SLX Series – Operation and Safety

In this training course you are introduced to the SLX Series slicers. First, you will be instructed in the safe handling and operation of the machine as well as setting up its various components and equipment.

By testing all the settings they make, the participants can observe and learn about the influence on the slicing result.

Also the maintenance tasks that have to be performed regularly will be discussed thoroughly in order to extend the lifetime of the machines' components.

The functionality and the operation of the blade grinding machine GM 600 are also part of this course. If desired, a short introduction into blade technology can be added to the course program.

Participants

• are aware of the dangers that can arise from the Slicer and transfer the important safety instructions to their job
• understand the functionality of the machine modules and the processes inside the MULTIVAC Slicer
• can operate the Slicer line in their area of responsibility

(Depending on who attends the training, the contents are be adapted to the participants’ needs: Operator, Setup-personnel, Maintenance.)

• Preparing & loading products for slicing
• Adjusting selected parameters to adapt the slicer to changing product properties and obtain a good portion quality
• Creating new Slicing programs for a new product or a different portion (Understanding the most important parameters used to create new Slicing programs)
• Maintenance procedures in the Slicer
• Functionalities for service and fault finding in the Slicer HMI

The last two topics can optionally be taught to maintenance staff by splitting the group of participants for one or two hours.

• understand how they can contribute to good portion weights in order to achieve a low Giveaway and a high acceptance of portions
• are familiar with the purpose and advantages of different vario equipment and can setup and dismantle this equipment in the Slicer

• can prepare the Slicer for hygienic cleaning

Handling Modules

In this course you will gain general technical knowledge of handling modules. You are introduced step-by-step to the function and operation of MULTIVAC robots. With the help of practical exercises on our training robot, you will learn both the significance of individual parameters and how to independently carry out simple maintenance and servicing activities for the daily operation of the system.

• can operate the robot via the HMI and perform simple maintenance and service activities independently
• are familiar with the terms "operating range", "homing", "work object", "collision range" and "projecting edge" and can assign them
• know the meaning of the individual parameters and can track them on the HMI

Thermoforming Packaging Machines – Film Workshop

On these two seminar days we intensively focus on the different sealing and forming processes of our thermoforming packaging machines. In the practical part we gladly provide you with the opportunity to test the behavior of your film in our machines.

• Setting the parameters and personal practical exercises on different films
• Recognizing incorrect settings
