Pneumatics

Gaining knowledge on the pneumatic system of a MULTIVAC packaging machine and their assemblies

Target audience: Fitters and servicing staff

Knowing the pneumatic system of a MULTIVAC packaging machine and its pneumatic assemblies helps you to avoid unplanned downtimes and maintain the productivity of your system.

Participants

  • describe the structure of the MULTIVAC pneumatic circuit diagram 
  • understand the acting features (pictograms) of the respective machine stations at MULTIVAC packaging machine
  • use the MULTIVAC key for the designation of components by means of the reference designator (BMK) and for the designation of pneumatic lines
  • assign the pneumatic components and lines of the machine in the pneumatic circuit diagram and from the pneumatic circuit diagram on the machine 
  • know cross-machine and machine-specific pneumatic components and can assign their function to MULTIVAC machines
  • perform simple maintenance and service activities on pneumatic components

Gaining knowledge of electrics in a MULTIVAC packaging machine

Target audience: Electricians

In this course, you will become familiar with the electrics of a MULTIVAC packaging machine.

In this course, you will become familiar with the control systems of a MULTIVAC packaging machine

Target audience: Electricians

In this course, participants will become familiar with the control system of a MULTIVAC packaging machine.

  • Basics of IPC control systems

  • Creation of a data backup and retrieving the flash card

Beginner training

Thermoforming Packaging Machines - Operation and Safety

Operation and adjustment of thermoforming packaging machine along the machine process

Target audience: Operators, machine supervisors, fitters and service personnel

In this course you will learn basic knowledge about operation and settings of thermoforming packaging machines. You will be trained along the machine processes, the standard processes and standard devices and practice how to operate them.

Thermoforming Packaging Machines – Mechanics and Maintenance

Knowledge and the skill to align a thermoforming packaging machine, including set-up and maintenance of moulds and cutters

Target audience: Fitters and servicing staff

Within this course we will provide you with basic and advanced knowledge on the alignment of a thermoforming packaging machine, the drag chain advance, the advance system and the register mark control. Basic and advanced knowledge on the set-up and maintenance of forming and sealing dies is imparted and you are familiarized with the cutting units (longitudinal and cross cutting untis – excluding shape cutters) on a thermoforming packaging machine.

Operation of the new thermoforming packaging machine RX 4.0 and knowledge of the settings on the HMI

Target audience: Operators, technicians, shift and line manager, maintenance personnel

To ensure production readiness of the machine generation RX 4.0, this course provides you an optimal overview of the settings on the HMI of the machine.

Contents:

  • Overview of innovations at the thermoforming packaging machines RX
  • Forming (entire process flow: die closing, heating, forming, ventilating and die opening)
  • Sealing (entire process flow: pressure monitoring, evacuation, gassing, sealing, ventilating and die opening, leak test sealing station)

Traysealer TX - Operation and Safety

Functionality and operation of the MULTIVAC Traysealer TX including the setting of the most important recipe parameters and format changes

Target audience: Operators, technicians, shift and line manager, maintenance personnel

In this training you are introduced to the safe operation of MULTIVAC Traysealers from the TX series. You first learn about the functions and processes of the machine and afterwards how to operate the Traysealer and how to set the most important parameters step-by-step. In addition, you´ll learn how to perform format changes and how to prepare the machine for cleaning.

Traysealer TX - Mechanics and Maintenance

Maintenance of a Traysealer TX such as dismantling of the sealing tools and the identification of all maintenance-relevant assemblies

Target audience: Technicians, maintenance personnel, shift and line supervisors

During the training course, you will be provided with basic knowledge for the proper maintenance of a Traysealer TX. The focus is on the disassembly of the sealing dies and the demonstration of all assemblies relevant for maintenance, e. g. the position of the vacuum valves and the lubrication points.

  • Disassembling and assembling the sealing dies
  • Identifying components relevant for maintenance, including the position of the vacuum valves and lubrication points
  • Instructions for correctly setting up and aligning the machine
  • Commissioning the machine using existing articles
  • Assessing the packaging quality

  • are familiar with the most important safety regulations and are aware of the possible dangers associated with the use of a traysealer

Slicer S 800/1600 - Operation and Safety

Handling of the MULTIVAC Slicer S 800/1600, e. g. preparatory processes for cleaning, handling of knives and sharpeners as well as cutting processes

Target audience: Operators, machine supervisors, fitters and service personnel


In this course you will be familiarized with the safe handling of the MULTIVAC Slicer. At first you learn about the functionality of the MULTIVAC Slicer and then step-by-step how to operate and how to set the most important parameters. In addition you get to know how to set up and tear down the format parts before a hygienic cleaning. Different aspects such as the basic structure and operation of the HMI will be discussed. The functionality and the operation of the grinding machine as well as a short digression into blade technology are also part of this course, if desired.

Handling of the MULTIVAC Slicer SLX Performance Series, e. g. preparatory processes for cleaning, handling of knives and sharpeners as well as cutting processes

In this training course you are introduced to the SLX Performance Series slicers. First, you will be instructed in the safe handling and operation of the machine as well as setting up its various components and equipment. 

The theoretical training content is then consolidated through your own slicing tests. These settings tests enable you to observe and learn how they influence the slicing result. Also the maintenance tasks that have to be performed regularly will be discussed thoroughly in order to extend the lifetime of the machines' components.

The functionality and the operation of the blade grinding machine GM 600 are also part of this course. If desired, a short introduction into blade technology can be added to the course program.

Handling Modules

Basics of handling modules, operation, maintenance and service for all kinematics, setup and basic knowledge of recipe creation

Target audience: Operators, machine supervisors, fitters and service personnel

In this course you will gain general technical knowledge of handling modules. You are introduced step-by-step to the function and operation of MULTIVAC robots. With the help of practical exercises on our training robot, you will learn both the significance of individual parameters and how to independently carry out simple maintenance and servicing activities for the daily operation of the system.

Technical knowledge of handling modules, e. g. basic terms of image processing, improving object detection with digital filters

Target audience: Operators, machine supervisors, fitters and service personnel

In this course, you will learn general technical knowledge of vision systems to gain an introduction to the topic of vision system. You are introduced step-by-step to the function and operation of the Multivac Vision System (MVS). Through practical exercises on our training robot with MVS, you will learn the significance of individual parameters as well as the functionalities of image identification or image processing.

  • Spot detection
  • Pattern detection

  • understand basic terms and lighting technology principles associated with image processing systems

Thermoforming Packaging Machines – Film Workshop

Intensive knowledge transfer of various sealing and moulding processes from MULTIVAC Thermoforming Packaging Machines using your films

Target audience: Film manufacturers and persons who are interested in the behavior of packaging materials on the thermoforming packaging machine

On these two seminar days we intensively focus on the different sealing and forming processes of our thermoforming packaging machines. In the practical part we gladly provide you with the opportunity to test the behavior of your film in our machines.

  • Different forming and sealing methods in theory and practice
  • Setting the parameters and personal practical exercises on different films
  • Recognizing incorrect settings

Our MULTIVAC On-site Training

On-site training at your location

We also conduct training courses directly at your company and on your machines. In these on-site training courses, the respective training content is taught individually and adapted to your production line.

On-site Training

Machine Training On-site

Standardized training on-site in the production environment at your plant (in case of limited production) for operating personnel (German/English)

  • Group size: maximum of 6 participants
  • Teaching the respective training content: in theory and practice on site
  • Prerequisite: availability of the participants and the system to be trained must be guaranteed for the entire duration of the training course
  • Training requirements and expectations: preparation of a customized offer based on your training needs
  • For the theoretical training we need a training room on site, preferably close to the machine

Line Training On-site

Individualized training on-site at your line in the production environment (reduced production only) for operator and setup personnel (German/English)

  • Group size: maximum of 6 participants
  • Teaching the individual training content: in theory and practice on site
  • Prerequisite: availability of the participants and the system to be trained must be guaranteed for the entire duration of the training course
  • Training requirements and expectations: preparation of a customized offer based on your training needs
  • For the theoretical training we need a training room on site, preferably close to the machine

Production Support

Greater effectiveness in the overall process thanks to better knowledge of the processes and customized assistance for new installations of machines and lines

If you know your system and the corresponding processes, you can achieve greater efficiency in the overall process. Especially when installing new machines and systems, operators are often unsure about how to operate the new system. Our learning-by-doing approach and customized assistance empowers your operators and helps with unresolved process issues to increase your productivity and the quality of your products.

Contents:

  • Understanding the system and its different components
  • Analysis of processes and procedures
  • Understanding the influence of parameters on the ongoing production
  • Enablement of self-driven troubleshooting
  • Assistance with questions during production

Identification of previously unused optimization potential through a systematic approach to your machines and processes, which leads e. g. to a reduction in downtimes or material waste as well as higher end product quality 

There is often untapped potential for optimization in daily production processes and workflows. By taking a systematic approach to your systems and processes, this potential can be recognized and utilized. This leads to measures which can reduce downtimes and material waste to further increase the productivity and quality of your products.
