MeetMULTIVAC: Materials Department

Introducing the team at MULTIVAC

26.03.2024

At MULTIVAC, our people share the same vision and values to help process and package what is valuable to your business, but how much do you know about the different areas of our business, and the people who make it all happen?

We’re making business more human and introducing you to some of our hard-working, knowledgeable, employees from the various departments at MULTIVAC UK.

It’s our March instalment of MeetMULTIVAC...

Yama Sultani, Materials Specialist – Materials Department

Tell us more about your role at MULTIVAC!

I work in the materials department at MULTIVAC UK working on business development for films and materials.

What does your day to day look like?

So far at MULTIVAC no two days are the same! My role requires me to create a sales pipeline through helping and supporting both new and existing customers on their packaging solutions.

How long have you worked at MULTIVAC? Have you had any other roles?

I started the year with a new role and have been with MULTIVAC for around 8 weeks now, prior to this role I worked as a Business Development Manager for a European packaging producer.

What do you like about working at MULTIVAC? What is your favourite part of your job?

The best part here is the people, processes, and partnerships. The people are really helpful and supportive, there is a process in place to make everyone’s job as easy as possible, and the partnerships MULTIVAC has with a wide range of suppliers means we have a packaging solution for every packaging need, so we really can support all of our customers requirements.

What is the most valuable thing you have learnt from working at MULTIVAC so far?

There is always a way!

What is a current problem our customers and the industry are facing that you are aiming to fix?

Customers are currently facing the challenge to move to recyclable materials and material optimisation. I ensure that the packaging is fit for purpose and is optimised so that there is zero waste. Where necessary, we will switch to recyclable materials, and where possible, we will look at downgauge options.

What are you generally working on at the moment which you are happy to share?

We have just trialled a retort lidding film for a pet food manufacturer, and we are currently undergoing contract negotiations. At the same customer there is also opportunity for us to optimise their production by installing thermoforming machinery which will reduce the cost per unit even further.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I like going to the gym and playing football, and of course spending time with my family.

What is something you have always wanted to do, but haven’t done yet?

That would definitely be a track race day!

Tell us something we don’t know! A surprising or fun fact about you...

I have a Padi scuba license.

Stay tuned for next month‘s instalment of MeetMULTIVAC!
