In this video, Jay Jayawarna, General Manager at Hertel Meats, explains how they preserve the freshness of their sausages, bacon, and smoked products while delivering great-looking products to their customers.
“We’re out in Port Alberni, B.C, and we get same day or first thing the next morning service from MULTIVAC Canada,” says Jay. “MULTIVAC gave us a great solution to move from MAP rigid tray and film packaging to vacuum flexible film packaging.”
Sam Nosek, Regional Sales Manager, B.C at MULTIVAC Canada, explains the unique package forming technique incorporated into the R126 machine, which ensures perfectly formed sausage packs. He also demonstrates the multi-lane coding system, which permits the complete printing of all necessary data, tracking, and ingredient information.

Jay adds, “We have installed a second MULTIVAC machine in our plant. They have an amazing technical crew, and we have never had downtime. In addition to using 69% less plastic with our MULTIVAC machines, our labour and efficiency savings are up by 40%.”
