MeetMULTIVAC: Workshop Technician

Introducing the team at MULTIVAC

26.06.2024

At MULTIVAC, our people share the same vision and values to help process and package what is valuable to your business, but how much do you know about the different areas of our business, and the people who make it all happen?

We’re making business more human and introducing you to some of our hard-working, knowledgeable, employees from the various departments at MULTIVAC UK.

It’s our June instalment of MeetMULTIVAC...

Jan Stevak, Workshop Technician

Tell us more about your role at MULTIVAC!

In my role as Workshop Technician, I am responsible for refurbishing machines to the highest standards, which are then returned to the customer. I also do the retrofitting of new machines.

What does your day to day look like?

Everyday is very different depending on what we have going on in the Workshop. In general, I run checks on the machines to determine its condition. Once I know what work is to be done, I then go ahead and order the necessary parts which I will then be responsible for fitting too.

How long have you worked at MULTIVAC? Have you had any other roles?

I have been with MULTIVAC just under two years. This is my first role within the company.

What do you like about working at MULTIVAC so far? What is your favourite part of your job?

My favourite part of the of my job is when I can sign off a machine that is ready to be returned to the customer. It is a great feeling to know I have fixed the problem and knowing the customer will be pleased that their machine is running like new again.

What are you generally working on at the moment which you are happy to share?

I am currently working on getting a R105MF thermoformer machine like new. So currently, I am deep cleaning the machine so I can identify the damage and what may need replacing. I try to see if I can fix the problem without needing spare parts, as these must come from Germany, and where I can I try to get the machine back to the customer as soon as possible.

Have you travelled to anywhere exciting while being with MULTIVAC UK?

One of the most exciting places I have visited is when I went to Bavaria to MULTIVAC Germany HQ. It was an eye-opening experience and made me think of ways to improve how we do things here at MULTIVAC UK.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

Outside of work, I thoroughly enjoy making my own smoked meat. I only have a small smoker at home, so I treat the meat for 3 weeks before. Everyone I work with knows when I’m done as I bring in about 1kg of what I have smoked for the Workshop to try!

Tell us something we don’t know! A surprising or fun fact about you...

I am a mechanical-electronic engineer with elelctric qualification too. I like that I am a multiskilled engineer and that my Technician role here at MULTIVAC lets me utilise all my skills.

Stay tuned for next month‘s instalment of MeetMULTIVAC!
