MeetMULTIVAC: Northern Ireland Regional Sales Manager

Introducing the team at MULTIVAC

04.11.2025

At MULTIVAC, our people share the same vision and values to help process and package what is valuable to your business, but how much do you know about the different areas of our business, and the people who make it all happen?

We’re making business more human and introducing you to some of our hard-working, knowledgeable, employees from the various departments at MULTIVAC UK.

It’s our November instalment of MeetMULTIVAC...

Ross Doherty, Northern Ireland Regional Sales Manager

What do you do at MULTIVAC? Describe your role...

I manage all sales enquires for Northern Ireland, representing a newly established role within the business. This is the first time the company has solely dedicated a Regional Sales Manager based in the region. I’m also in a bit of a unique position here, as I look after both equipment and material sales.

How long have you worked at MULTIVAC in your role? Have you had any other roles at MULTIVAC?

I am relatively new to the business, having started in my role at the beginning of August.

What do you like about working at MULTIVAC? What’s your favourite part of your job?

One of the things I really enjoy about my role is the variety. With such a wide range of equipment and materials supporting complete food manufacturing processes, there’s always something new to learn. I also value the support network I have for customer enquiries. It gives me the opportunity to collaborate with multiple teams across the business, and I genuinely enjoy working together to get sales over the line.

What are you generally working on at the moment which you are happy to share?

Being new to the business, I have been doing a lot of training to familiarise myself with MULTIVAC’s product range – which has meant I haven’t been out on the road as much. However, that’s now starting to ease, and over the past month I have conducted several site visits. I’m currently working on a variety of projects involving full line automation, thermoforming and traysealing applications.

What do you like to do outside of work? Do you have any interesting hobbies?

I have quite a few hobbies outside of work. My wife and I both enjoy travelling, so we book trips throughout the year to have something to look forward to. I’m a big football fan and follow my team, Manchester City. When the weather is dry, I enjoy getting out on my motorbike, driving the many scenic routes in my area. I also spend a lot of time at the gym and I have recently taken up golf as well. But I need a good few more lessons!

If you weren’t in the profession you are now, what else would you have liked to have been and why?

To be honest, I have always had an interest in sales and have always seen myself in a role like this. When I was younger I had an interest in being an air traffic controller but I would say this is due to my passion for travelling.

What’s one thing you’ve always wanted to try but haven’t?

I would like to try skydiving one day, and I hope to do it for charity in the future.

What three items would you take with you to a deserted island?

Blanket, water bottle, lighter.

What is one skill you have that you want to improve on?

I would like to improve on my technical product knowledge for MULTIVAC.

If you could instantly become an expert in one thing, what would it be?

I’d definitley like to become an expert in thermoformers, as it is a key product in the MULTIVAC range.

Tell us something we don’t know! A surprising or fun fact about you...

I have recently started competing in local Hyrox competitions. Recently, I completed my first full doubles competition in 59.51. I am also hoping to participate in events in the mainland UK in 2026.

Anything else? Is there anything else you’d like us to cover, maybe an important aspect of your job that isn’t covered above? Let us know...

I spent seven years in my previous role at ROCOL, where I was responsible for selling food grade lubricants. During that time, I gained exposure to MULTIVAC’s equipment while surveying food manufacturing production lines. This experience also gave me an understanding of food manufacturing sites across Northern Ireland, and I see great potential for MULTIVAC to grow further in this region.

Stay tuned for next month‘s instalment of MeetMULTIVAC!
