Introducing the team at MULTIVAC
16.04.2025

At MULTIVAC, our people share the same vision and values to help process and package what is valuable to your business, but how much do you know about the different areas of our business, and the people who make it all happen?
We’re making business more human and introducing you to some of our hard-working, knowledgeable, employees from the various departments at MULTIVAC UK.
It’s our April instalment of MeetMULTIVAC...
Kalin Peaston, Projects and Proposals Engineer
What do you do at MULTIVAC? Describe your role...
In my role, I develop comprehensive project proposals that encompass technical specifications, product information and financial summaries. Our expertise lie in creating line and factory layouts for customers using CAD software.
What does your day to day look like?
The Projects department is dynamic and very fast-paced! It’s essential that we manage multiple tasks simulatenously. The general overview of my day will involve discussing and finalising specifications for production lines, ensuring no critical details are overlooked. To guarantee this is maintained, we have regular meetings with internal sales teams, product managers and third-party suppliers – effective communication is very important! Alongside this, it’s quite frequent that we will assist with urgent CAD drawings as well as being responsible for maintiaing meticulous records and documentation throughout the process.
How long have you worked at MULTIVAC in your role? Have you had any other roles at MULTIVAC? If not, why not tell us a little bit about your previous experience!
I have worked in this role for 6 years. But for a bit of background, I previously worked for a telecommunications company as a mechanical design engineer. The highlight there was when we designed the ATG which enabled the first WiFi on planes.
What do you like about working at MULTIVAC? What’s your favourite part of your job?
I like that I never have the same day twice. My colleagues in the office are always the best for support and together we get the seemingly impossible done. We also have an amazing charity committee here at MULTIVAC. so there’s always a creative and fun fundraising activity going on which mixes up the day to day.
What are you generally working on at the moment which you are happy to share?
I am currently working on a number of projects. The trend seems to be in big automation projects which are high in demand at the moment. Our TVI portioning range paired with Traysealer projects are also currently flying out our door.
What do you like to do outside of work? Do you have any interesting hobbies?
I love going on adventures to new destinations, experimenting with all things food and drink related, immersing myself in nature walks, and diving into anything related to water.
If you could travel back to one specific point in time, when would it be? Why?
Maybe the 80s/90s the fashion, the big hair, the music and movies sound like it would be fun.
What is your favorite travel destination and why?
That would have to be Wales. I’ve been lucky enough to have travelled all over the world, but nothing seems to beat driving around Snowdonia country lanes, in any weather - or stopping on the side of the road and finding hidden rivers and walks to explore. It has the most pictueresque villages, with the prettiest pubs and amazing food that’s hard to beat. I also got married at the Gower which is arguebly one of the most beautiful places in the UK.
If you won the lottery, what would be the first thing you buy and why?
First class tickets around the world because I want to see as much of it as possible! I’d maybe consider buying my husband’s dream car too…
Tell us something we don’t know! A surprising or fun fact about you...
I have a family crest! It’s quite cool considering I was born in South Africa and my immediate family is South African – I even lived there for seven years before moving to the UK. It turns out my ancestors were originally from France before relocating to Scotland, where they held titles as lords and ladies. There’s even a small village in Scotland called ‘Peaston’ which I visted when I was 8.
