Daniel Ullah, Regional Sales Manager: South East
Can you explain your journey at MULTIVAC and describe your role within the department?
My journey with MULTIVAC began in August 2015 when I joined as a Planned Maintenance Technician. For 7.5 years, I supported the South East region, initially focusing on planned maintenance and later taking on emergency cover as well. I then transitioned into the Product Management Team, specialising in Chamber Machines. This was an interesting change to the day-to-day tasks I was used to but I learned that I thoroughly enjoy the world of sales.
Fast forward 11+ years, and I’m pleased to share that I have now taken on the role of Regional Sales Manager for the South East region.
What does a typical work day look like for you?
A typical day doesn‘t exist! It could involve anything from customer meetings, Innovation Centre trials or helping customers with solutions to their problems.
What recent changes in your responsibilities have you found exciting or motivating?
The transition from focusing on a single product range, Chamber Machines, to working with the full portfolio of MULTIVAC, TVI, Fritsch and our exclusive partners is extremely exciting. Also, having the opportunity to work more closely with the products and the amazing people behind them will be a pleasure.
Which experiences from your earlier roles in the company have best prepared you for what you’re doing today?
Definitely the unpredictability of my day-to-day work as a technician. It has taught me to adapt to almost any situation and to work out the best way to reach a solution.
What are you most excited to achieve in your region this year?
We have some truly exciting equipment that will genuinely benefit our customers, and seeing them flourish as a result would be a real achievement for me.
What impact do you hope to make for customers in your new role?
I want all my customers in the South East to benefit from our labour saving, efficiency-enhancing solutions. I want them to feel the value of trusting the experts.
If you could instantly become an expert in one thing, what would it be?
An expert in the materials our customers use. There are so many nuances when it comes to plastics and other materials. Luckily, we have a team of highly knowledgeable specialists who handle that, so I don’t need to worry!
What’s one piece of advice you live by, personally or professionally?
Treat people the way you wish to be treated. Manners cost nothing! Politeness is a huge sign of respect for me.
What’s one piece of technology at MULTIVAC that facinates you?
Our AI-Vision is incredbly interesting and can cause some serious savings for our customers.
If you could be any MULTIVAC machine, what would you be and why?
Ha ha! I think it would have to be a Chamber Machine! I started as a technician for these, through to Product Managing the range! I am commonly know as the Chamber Guy so, I guess it has to be that!
Tell us something we don’t know! A surprising or fun fact about you…
I have an irrational fear of moths. Dont ask me why, I have to leave the room if there is one. I once asked my wife to get one out of our bedroom as I just can’t deal with their unpredictability haha!
