AI-supported traysealer line for the highest level of flexibility
MULTIVAC Group at interpack (Hall 5, Stand A23)
14.04.2026
Wolfertschwenden, 14 April 2026 – At interpack 2026 the MULTIVAC Group will be showing, how digitalisation, integrated line solutions and innovative servicing concepts can contribute to an increase in efficiency, transparency and sustainability in food production. Using an AI-supported TX traysealer line, the company will demonstrate the extraordinary flexibility that is possible in production through the use of AI.
Flexibility in its finest form
At the trade fair a TX traysealer line will be shown for the highly efficient and simultaneous packaging in trays of various products from two or more separate infeed streams. The AI-controlled product identification and the intelligent "print & apply“ labelling enable the traysealer capacity to be utilised perfectly. The TX 720 traysealer is fed in parallel with two streams of identical trays, which each contain either chicken drumsticks or chicken wings. After the products have been packaged, an AI-supported L 310 labelling and inspection system identifies the content of the particular pack, prints the appropriate label and then applies this to the tray. The trays are subsequently separated according to product and stacked by two MULTIVAC stacking units.
“The traysealer to be exhibited at interpack is equipped with a new CloseCut die, which contributes to the sustainability of the packaging solution thanks to reduced material consumption,” explains Franziska Schreiber, Product Manager for Traysealers at MULTIVAC. “The die seals the trays immediately next to each other, tray to tray. This means that there is no film to be cut out between the trays. Up to 30 percent of the film trim and the corresponding costs can therefore be saved. The format utilisation is also optimised – and in the best-case scenario there is space for an additional tray in the machine.”
The configuration to be shown at interpack is just one example of AI-supported packaging of various products on one line. The concept can be expanded to multiple infeed streams and several pack streams. The TX traysealer line can be seen in live operation at the trade fair, where visitors will be able to gain further information about AI-supported product identification and the new CloseCut technology.
