Mini heart-shaped pizza bread, perfect for Valentine's Day

The independently owned bakery was asked by a leading retailer to produce a mini heart-shaped garlic pizza bread as part of the supermarket’s promotional Valentine’s Day collection for 2021.

Originally purchased in 2008, the bakery already had an existing FRITSCH speciality bread line for the production of special bread rolls and wood-fired pizzas.

The customer has a fully automated pizza base facility and can develop many pizza base recipes to create crusts that rival typical Italian-style bases.

Although the bakery already had the ability to produce a range of styles and shape options, the business required a new punching die set for their FRITSCH line to meet the heart-shaped Valentine’s Day garlic pizza requirements. Additional tooling was an option that would allow them to utilise their existing equipment.

The new heart-shaped punch tooling allowed the bakery to provide the leading retailer with a tomato and mozzarella topped garlic pizza bread, the perfect side to any romantic Valentine’s Day main dish. The new tooling will add to the business’ range of pizza shapes and sizes, allowing them to provide many products to meet their customers’ requirements now and in the future.

The existing FRITSCH speciality bread line was purchased 13 years ago. The new tooling has allowed the business to continue to provide bakery products to meet the demands of the industry as it changes over time. In 2021, the bakery can produce different products than in 2008 with the same machine.
