New Reclosable Packaging Technology for Thermoformer Applications

Brampton, ON - April 20, 2026 - MULTIVAC Canada is pleased to announce the launch of MultiSeal, a new reclosure technology that enables food producers to create cost‑effective, easy‑open, reclosable packaging for MULTIVAC thermoformer applications.

MultiSeal integrates a slitting-and-tape application directly into the top web of the package, creating a reliable, user-friendly opening feature suitable for MAP applications and multiple reclosures, significantly enhancing product freshness and consumer convenience.

MultiSeal represents a major advancement for food manufacturers by offering:

• Lower material and equipment costs compared to zipper-pack solutions
• Reduced machine complexity, enabling shorter line lengths and fewer tooling components
• Compatibility with compact thermoformers
• Retrofittable options for existing machines
• Consistent high-speed performance due to long tape roll lengths

This technology has been successfully implemented in Europe on both thermoformers and flow wrappers, and MULTIVAC Canada is now ready to bring this functionality to our customers.
